Visit the studios of artists, designers & makers in the beautiful village of Welcombe on the North Devon coast.  Across 3 venues this year, with guest artists, you can see beautiful handmade work that includes ceramics, glass, furniture & objects, paintings, prints, cards + more.

The Pop-Up TeaRoom will serve cakes & drinks in the village hall Saturday & Sunday.
A small selection of cakes, treats & drinks will be available at pachadesign’s studio Friday only.

National Trust will be hosting Art on the Beach for children with artist Tom Hyde at Welcombe Mouth Friday only 10am – 2pm.

xmas posterdesignA4 We hope you can come & join us at our studios in Welcombe on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd November for mulled wine, mince pies & other festive treats and to buy some beautiful handmade presents.

This years xmas open studios include Welcombe Pottery where you can buy a wide range of ceramics & glass, pachadesign’s studio will have a collection of furniture and objects for the home and Paul Jenner’s newly built studio has lots of photography on canvas, mounted prints & cards.

All 3 studios will be open from 10am to 5pm and are all within a few 100 yards of each other – follow signs from the A39 at Welcombe Cross.

Welcombe Pottery – David Westcott produces a wide range of work, mostly domestic pottery, using earthenware, stoneware and porcelain clays. Jugs, bowls and mugs in a variety of glazes. Alice Gare, inspired by the vivid colours of the sea, remakes aspects of our coastline in kiln-formed glass, fusing metals and organic objects into the glass.

pachadesign are glenn rushbrooke & samantha robb – we are a design/make partnership specializing in contemporary furniture & objects from locally sourced reclaimed & natural resources. Our work evolves from a simplistic approach to design & the materials that we use {oak, slate & metal}, combining pared down aesthetics with the japanese view of wabi sabi, beauty in imperfection.

Paul captures the beauty of the familiar using natural light and a passion for the wilderness and wildlife of Welcombe. Creating simple, uncluttered compositions and a sense of peace and stillness, he loves to capture vibrant colour and uses his artistic eye to wonderful effect. Paul will be exhibiting his work in his newly built studio.

Come & join us at our studios in Welcombe this Easter and treat yourself to something handmade & beautiful.
4 studios will be open showing a selection of handmade work on April 18th, 19th & 20th {10.30am to 4pm}

Koa Tree StudioKim Mudge: My inspirations are the sea and natural environment, I love colour and texture often using glittering mediums. I tend to work on many pieces at the same time. At the moment im working on a new collection of work all created since moving to welcombe, using oil on canvas and letting the abstract colours flow and develop as I work.
